Hi,

I have a spare HDD that I have taken out of my old desktop computer and would like to take it to school and tranfer data. My question is, if it is safe for the disk, since it wasn't manufactured to be carried around. Is there some risk that it would become damaged? Thanks for reply.

Yep, it's safe as long as you don't leave it in your car when it's 120 degrees out or drop it on accident.

Bubble wrap is your friend, especially the pink ant-static type.

It won't have a particularly long life that way. But if you're careful it should be fine.
