Did you ever see that Onion article: "Best years of area man's life apparently never going to happen"

It's a funny article, but it's sad too. This guys spends his entire life waiting for the next big milestone (getting a car, joining the military, getting a girlfriend, etc) and every time he reaches one, his life just changes or gets worse. In the end, he is standing in his garage, and realises that he has nothing left to look forward to.

I'm not going to tell you to "chin-up" or "hang in there baby" because it occured to me a few months ago that the life I'm leading right now at this very moment is probably the best my life is going to get.

yeah im trying..

started going to grad school while working (kind of a cr@ppy place.. not that much of a degree)

went up to Syracuse during the weekend to get a change in my environment.. and will be going up to AC this weekend cause one of my old roommates wants to go with me...

trying and trying... but...... I got a college degree... and I am not making use of it at all... and I may end up not being able to set foot in my major... ah well..

MUST KEEP TRYING (not many changes can be instantaneous... and the ones that are, arent all good)

and there are ppl out there with worse lives... so

thanks for the serious responses :)

Change your job, hobby, religion. Something. No need to live like that. Go on drugs if you're depressed.

The hardest thing in life is change. Even when that change could be for the better, it is still so hard. Life most likely isn't going anywhere because deep down inside you fear the changes. I know this, because its the same in my life. And I've seen it in other lives too. Everyone has options and most choose not to take them and to stay the same.

Your life has stagnated.

You're working for a living and you're focusing too much on your job as your life. Don't let your job be your life. Start drinking and partying hardcore, hitting the bars and clubs hard every weekend. Start doing drugs, mind-bending, I can't think straight kind of gear. Suck out all the shallow enjoyment you can and live for it. Just live for it. Spend your weekdays in a daze and dream about the weekends and the girls you'll use and the good times you'll experience and you'll start to feel alive, albeit for two or three days out of a week. Rinse and repeat.

Crank it up, f*ckers.
