I didn't think about this til now, but Lieberman was just using Gore like his biatch :) Either way, he was gonna have a job. Be it vice-president, or senator. He used his nomination as a booster for his popularity while the primary/election process was going to gurantee him a job. No wonder he wouldn't give in to the people telling him to drop out of the senatorial race.

So if Gore loses (which he will), old "L" boy is gonna have a job. Gore on the other hand will be a job-less sore loser :)

LOL, I dunno if that was his full intent, but it did work out that way.

Lieberman
Clinton (the missus...well, we'll see if she still is in the next 4 years)
2004

LOL!

Liberman played his cards right. He is not taking the rap for Gore's insistance on fighting. I don't see any other way that this situation could have been handled. Gore could not have conceded early because that would end his political life. He also cannot quit now for the same reason. Lieberman on the other hand is in phat city no matter how this turns out. If he was not Jewish I would say that he would be a perfect Democratic nominee for Prez in 2004. I don't know how likely that is with that caveat.

Clearly, he was smart enough not to hitch his wagon to Gore. Sure as hell can't fault him for that.

WTF is that supposed to mean? How would him being Jewish hurt him? Yes, there are anti-simetics in this country, but there aren't nearly enough to tip the scales (unless we get another one as close as this...:Q).

I'm not an anti-semite, but I doubt America will elect a Jew to our highest office. Just look at history. How many non-Protestants have there been? I can only think of JFK (Catholic) and Nixon (Quaker).

Lieberman is "OK" though he still has censorship leanings. But he's smart and seem to have geniune care for select groups of citizens (or at least he fakes it well enough to fool me). Unlike that other guy, what was his name? Oh yeah _Bore_. I'd prefer never to see another Bore or Clinton on any ticket ever again, just as I don't want to see a Bush, Dole, or Gingrich ever again.

The only person that Lieberman helped was Hillary. Without the Jewish vote in NY, she would have a job babysitting at her house in Westchester. Bill convinced Gore to pick Senator Joe for that reason, Clinton doesn't give two hoots about Gore living in the White House.

Although I despise Gore, I feel that Lieberman is genuinely a good man. I don't agree with him on several issues, but I do believe that he means well.

Anyone hear how his wife introduced him when he was nominated?
It's true what they say: behind every great man..

Dont know if anyone said this yet but Clinton did the same thing to the "Reverend" Jessie Jackson. As soon as he was elected the first time, Clinton did a big retreat from the Democrats "Rented Ranter"

Dont feel sorry for Gore if he loses.

He will make a fortune "Lecturing" on the circuit.
He will be the Dems first choice for Pres in 2004.
He will be very influential behind the scenes.

Not bad for someone who didnt/couldnt finish:

1. His tour in Viet Nam (as a reporter)
2. Divinity School
3. Law school

thebestMAX,

<< He will make a fortune "Lecturing" on the circuit. >>

I believe you're thinking of the charismatic Wild Bill Clinton not his protege. The wooden robot might not be in demand.

<< He will be the Dems first choice for Pres in 2004. >>

Only if polls in 2003 show the american people have chosen to forget why they didn't elect him in 2000.

<< He will be very influential behind the scenes. >>

Hmmm, perhaps another book is due. How about "how to make money by allowing a zinc mining facilitly to operate on your pristine land in Tennessee"?

Think you are wrong here. The "wronged" party members will flock to listen to his words of wisdom as well as will the tree huggers.

Already been stated that if he wants the nomination in 2004 it is his. Sorry, no source to quote but has been mentioned during the trials many times. True or not? I think his opponent would be, god help us all, Hillary.

<< He will be very influential behind the scenes. >>

He already has written a second book according to CNN and is waiting to publish it. Dont forget he is also well connected in DC.

Take care.

Bore may not have a "job" but he will certainly not be hurting anywhere but in the ego department.

Gore can always pull his big oil investments out of the trust he put them into before he started his campaign. Or he can just go back to the ol' plantation and start tobacco farming again.
