Hey ATOT, has anyone played this first person, action, spell casting game out ? It's from a dev called Xaviant. It has pretty high system requirements, as it uses Cryengine 3 !

It has a pretty steep craft learning curve, but it gets better after a few hours. One thing about it is the devs put out weekly builds and seem attentive to the customers.

8/10...:whiste:

I was hoping for a more RPGish experience, but all it is is a FPC (First Person Caster). Not my style.

Watched a quick look of this over at Giantbomb. I thought it looked bland. A game like this can go one of two ways. It could either be very strategic like Thief/Dishonored with awesome transversal skills and a lot of utility or it could go huge explosions like Bulletstorm and make you feel crazy powerful. This doesn't really do either. It gives me a Dark Messiah of Might and Magic vibe, but without the physics that made that game cool.

It's a FPC Diablo. Loot plays a HUGE part in this game, and the combat system is surprisingly deep. Story is meh, but the combat is fun, challenging, and deep. Definitely worth the money, but not a GOTY (so a solid 7.5 or 8 /10 I guess).

While its not Run and Gun, i got alot of old school shooter vibe, as stated its got a fairly deep skill set, some very interesting combat. While I never noticed much in the last Cyrsis games (farcry), I get some chop in this one, not sure why. its pretty bland RPG wise in fact I wouldn't say its a RPG in any way, fantasy setting is about it. You go through a pretty much single path and Kill anything anything ahead of you. the fun come with how you do that killing, freeze/fire/ lightning etc.. I liked how it looked, and the effects are pretty good. I enjoyed it for awhile but started feeling pretty repetitious the difficulty does ramp up fairly quick so it does take some skill and that keeps it fresh for awhile. I must admit i have only got to the 2nd major "runestone'? or whatever they are called, so maybe i have only touched a sliver of game play.

hmmm........I'm on the first boss; and jesus he's kicking my ass; this very much reminds me of old school; Hexen 2 style play.

One you are powerful mage; you get to blow stuff up; but you got to time your spells; and spell builder looks to a whole lot of fun.

Story wise; nope not going to win any awards; but most important thing is I'm just having a blast running around blowing the hell out of things. You can quickly scroll throw your spells; ice will freeze them if done right but won't outright kill; kinda the same for lightning as it will stun your enemies and of course fire blows things up 😀

you don't level; but your gems level as you use them and kill.....I've just scratched the crafting and looks like things will get very interesting there.

Now I just need to figure out how to beat that damn demon boss; *its actually a lot of fun trying to figure out best way to beat enemies as just trying to go in stomping will get you your ass handed to you* 😀

Ok I run and gunned the first boss; still took me several tries as sob gets faster as he gets lower on health. I'm loving the ice control; then boom with fire; this game has massive amount of depth once you get past the beginning specially with spell crafting.

want more powerful spells; you got to craft them.....love it. Crystal I'll check out the video in a little bit 😀
