So what will we do even if we do implement a no-fly zone and gaddafi still attacks the rebels with tanks and infantry?

Tanks are moving against them now.

Seems like this is too little too late.

I see many people bitching why we waited so long to do something. It took almost 6 months from Saddam's invasion into Kuwait before the first coalition forces started bombing Iraq.

The United States and the west have to keep our footprint on this as small as possible to maintain credibility in the Arab world.

The fact the U.N. resolution and approval from the Arab League(required) happened so quickly proves we have been working on this early.

Attack them. This is clear and French president has said today "as of now" they are ready to attack tanks that move no Benghazi.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte told journalists at the summit in Paris that he believed British, French and Canadian aircraft would launch the first airstrikes, the BBC's Carole Walker in Paris reports.

I'm surprised you Americans are so oppossed to this, you guys are normally the ones to startthis stuff! Anyways sounds like the above are starting, maybe you guys can help throw down some cruise missles and the crazy guy will back down.

Didn't you hear the address? This isn't just a no-fly zone, it's a mandate to prevent further civilian casualties short of ground invasion. Anything's fair game.

Most of us are just a little bitter over the international community declaring us Imperialist and our President "The number 1 terrorist" when we go in on our own, and then accusing us of cold inaction when we don't lead the way. That and we have little physical interest in Libya. Of course the international community loves it when our forces serve their interests.

Hopefully this will be different.

Hmm, the French kicking ass and taking names later. Maybe now we can order French Fries without our resident Archie Bunkers getting their BVD's in a knot.

Right...because when the UN votes to kill, mangle, and disfugure people, that's much better than the US killing, mangling, and disfiguring people...

It's interesting that the UN took action in Libya, but not the Ivory Coast where there is not only a civil war but also an internationally-recognized winner in the election to take over.

I suppose there's less of an opportunity for migrants from the Ivory Coast to head over to Europe and they don't have oil.

I doubt we're going to be in the first wave.

Canada has committed six CF-18 fighter jets to help enforce the no-fly zone, and early Saturday Canadian aircraft landed at the Prestwick Airport in Glasgow, Scotland to refuel and left, an airport spokesman said.

Andrew MacDougall, a spokesman for Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper, said it would take two days to prepare for any mission.
