They injected the contaiminated blood. - Guilty.
Did they do it on purpose - Suspect not. - Guilty until proven innocent according to the Lybian laws.

Prosecuters built their case on what the doctros said. The Libyian doctors were playing CYA.

To improve Western relations the appeal will probably generate a few year sentence and then expulsion.

If Bush would just show more tolerance and understanding toward the Muslim world, this would have never of happened! Evil America is forcing them to do this. I hear Haliburton is making the bullets which will be used to shoot these people.. and Cheney is making 25% on every bullet sold.

CYA = cover your ass

The hospital was dirty and re-used needles without sterilization. Children patients at the hosptial got infected with HIV. Doctors and government officials who were aware of the filthy hospital conditions pinned the blame on foreign volunteer medics.

Apparently there has not been an execution in Libya in nine years or something, and they have automatic appeals. I see Kadafi stepping in and commuting the sentence to win more favor with the west. I agree with most people, looks like a BS accusation/trial/outcome.
