and if the US/UK don't end sanctions then Lockerbie settlement will be scuttled . . . so much Bush/Blair bravado.

even Neocons admit Libya deal is quid pro quo
Libya expects to get sanctions relief and international acceptance as a result of the deal. But the potential American concessions are troubling to neoconservatives in the Administration who scorn deals with dictators.

El Baradei: Libyan program basically mothballed
"The program is very much at an early stage of development, where it is right now ... quite dismantled in fact. It's all in boxes," ElBaradei said. "They were far away from having an industrial-scale enrichment capability."

The Bush Administration chalked up a major foreign-policy victory when the President announced that Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi had agreed to dismantle his secret ? and surprisingly advanced ? unconventional-weapons program in exchange for improved relations with the West.

I wholeheartedly agree with the opening paragraph of the article you linked to, and encourage everyone to read it

ElBaradei indicated that his "gut feeling" was Libya was about three to seven years away from being able to produce a nuclear weapon...ElBaradei said "It's an eye opener to see how much material has been going from one country to the other, the extent of the black market network,"

BRAVO Mr Bush. BRAVO Mr Blair..

Iran is buckling, N. Korea is agreeing to inspections again......sounds like a great plan is coming together...

Bush would take credit for Christmas if it he knew Pat Robertson had his back.

You need to take a scientists perspective on a "surprisingly advanced" WMD program . . . Cuba has "surprisingly advanced" biotechnology but don't hold your breath waiting for gene chips from Havanna.

Iran lost nothing. They are providing cover for suppliers to their domestic nuke program. They will have tons of nuke material in "temporary" storage. The future is by no means safer. North Korea is giving access to scientists/private citizens but not the IAEA. If that's the standard then Saddam got a raw deal.
