Holy smokes. $89k to play a mobile game. He could had spent $20 on Skyrim and downloaded mods to his hearts content for free! $89k for a crappy mobile game.

It goes to show how game developers are using psychology to hook gamers into spending tons of cash on in game purchases. A few years ago I got addicted to a baseball game on my Note 5. I spent over $500 and I rationalized why I did it. Never again. I haven't touched a smartphone game since.

Humans are incompetently stupid.

The concept of continuously paying for a game for stupid items is mind-boggling. Everything from simply paying $20 for a customized skin - or $10 for "gold" in a virtual currency is just baffling. How are people THAT stupid?

I'm glad I don't have much time for videogames anymore - there are few and far that aren't going the "micro transaction" route to an extreme degree.

$89k...dear baby jesus. I honestly can’t even contemplate the $500 you spent on a mobile game. Insane.

When I was playing I slowly lost control. I remember playing, and then I was getting more addicted to getting certain cards. I had to have that card. It started innocently enough. $4.99 for the starter pack. Then it was $9.99 packs. I bought a $99 pack once. You don't even think about it. You get caught up in the excitement. The next thing I was out $500. It ddn't happen all at once. It took a few months. When I was spending the money I'd rationalize why it didn't matter.

I don't go out anyomre.
I should have fun.
It's only money, and I don't have children.
And so on..

I met a gut who spent over $5k on mobile strike. He was addicted to buying those ingame crates.

Other than paying for a sub on Eve Online, I've never spent money on any of these type of things. Even LOL I never spent any money.

I as well as many of you are old enough to have seen the downward spiral that is gaming (and technology twisted for nefarious means) over the years. It is sad that us nerds let this happen.

There are things in reason. We pay monthly for services like Netflix, or cable TV. I don't mind paying $15 a month, for a MMORPG game that I'll play several days a week, as it's worth it's entertainment value. But I won't waste $25 to buy, some mount in the game.
