Absolutely disgusting, complete and total indoctrination of communist philosophy.

When you realize your ideas are too stupid and only the stupid few are falling for them, you need to find ways to indoctrinate a new generation of idiots. And of course the "educators" are more than happy to go along with the stupidity.

Wait, so you were part of the 1% and then lost 'everything' because a bubble burst?
Don't think people who are in the 1% are really that stupid.

You don’t need to be first

This is a pretty good summary of why schools are failing us.

In what world can a school have eight year olds sing liberal activist songs about "the 1%" and NOT be liberal?

I don't think you can judge a school's political bias by the first song that receives criticism, as the OP article suggests.

Exactly, if it was a conservative school, the kids would be pushing for lower taxes on school lunches, a dress code and photo student ID's to vote in school elections.

Turn it around. If eight year olds were singing a song about how marriage is between a man and a woman, how the homosexual lifestyle will send you to hell, how we should be fighting against the communists in Hollywood, and the school administration was defending the song and insisting that the kids wrote it, would you have any problem with describing that as a conservative school?

This is a pretty significant investment in time and effort specifically supported by the school administration, and as such I'd say it defines the school pretty well. It also shows the problem with the American education system. To a great extent, Johnny can't read because his time is spent learning a new set of social values.

Agreed - and all good things. LOL

Yeah, cause the pledge specifically pushes a fringe radical political agenda!

Idiot.

Oh, you poor guy.

You know what? You can say two pledges to make up for me.

But you're right, kids should just be indoctrinated with shit you're cool with. I mean they're kids, so they need to be indoctrinated with something, right?

Idiot.

It forces someone to declare total loyalty to an inanimate object (a flag) and forces children of all religions to make the claim that if they don't accept the existence of a judeo/christian god that they are not a valid citizen of the United States. Sounds like a pretty radical and crazy political agenda to me. Way less radical than a child making claim that they are part of 99% of the population of this nation (a number far higher than are Jewish or Christian).

They'd also be insisting that it's not racist to ask any minorities who walk in the school to show a valid student id or they'd be sent to the inner city school 15 miles away. Also they'd make sure that all students HAVE to have prayer time that they use to pray to the Christian god.

“They’re actually claiming third-grade children wrote these lyrics and chose the topic as well,” Weasel Zippers wrote. “Because what eight-year-old child isn’t obsessed with class warfare?”

School officials are lying.

Yea, its not very believable that the education system is all the sudden so good that 8 year olds are in tune with the economy and politics of today.

But hey, at least they didn't use the word God in their song.

Maybe it would help him to see more clear if he knew the pledge was written by one of those Socialist's who believed * capitalism is a faith or ideology that is rooted in the mortal sin of avarice and claim it is a form of mammon worship*

What other songs have they (8-year-olds and other children at the school) been instructed to sing in the past? Is there a history of them singing controversial songs and, in general, generating controversy?

Whenever this forum starts swinging too far to the right Steeplerot gets let out of his closet again. It would only take a few of you to concede that 8 and 9 year olds have the OWS movement so forefront in their minds that they'd compose a song about it, a few more of you to sing the praises of communism, a few more to declare that 100 million more dead is just what the world needs right now and he'll be hauled off to a secure place to be dusted off and brought out again at a later date.

It's going to happen but when it happens is up to you. The sooner you move to the left the sooner he's gone.

This forum is not right-wing really, it is full of a bunch of tv/talk radio fed dolts repeating what they hear their team should root for. Very little politics here and a lot of rhetoric (like 100 million dead because of a economic theory)

I cannot remember the last time a righty actually defended his beliefs or why they would even buy into such childish views with a intellectual answer not worthy of a 5 year olds mentality. A mirror of the dumbed down mass media fed sheep that inhabit the nether regions of the USA.

Anyhow, glad to victimize you poor poor oppressed downtrodden conservative defenders of the status quo. Your lives must suck with me back.

But comrades, have no fear!

You can always ignore me, it is not like you ever have contributed to debate.

The last thing I want is anyone to "move to the left" if anything people should think for their own damn selves for once. The world needs more lefties like Trotskyists then a hole in the head (-I dont expect many here to get that)

It can't do anything but make a few smarter Americans to have their beliefs challenged now and again even if you disagree with me on a lot.

Wanna know a secret? I despise bourgeoisie liberals more then you reactionaries, at least right wingers are honest about their game no matter how unappealing and mind numbingly predictable it is to me politically.

When the mods get sick of my shit I will be gone, as has been done for about a decade here. No conspiracy needed. ;)

Until then sit back and enjoy the ride comrades. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo1qGR5DDw8
