Libby jury reaches verdict

Pretty quick turn around.

If he gets off with the "I was too busy to remember" excuse the next time I get pulled over for speeding I will tell the officer "The speed limit sign was a mile back and I was too busy to remember what it said"

Well it seems to be the standard excuse for any politician these days.

i'm thinking he'll be found guilty followed by a pardon at the end of the year.... so, virtually not guilty.

If the President does pardon him I would imagaine he will do it in the last day of office. I'm not so certain that's going to happen.

I am willing to bet it happens.

so whats the potential fallout of this?

Nothing, really. This trial was only going to be interesting if they got Cheney on the stand, and they decided not to do that.

Absolutely no doubt Bush will pardon his fall guy Libby Jan 19th 2009.

This is a sad case. His is not proven or convicted of the original crime investigated. Instead, the remainder of his life could be taken away because he made a mistake while being investigated.

This sort of witch hunt may happen to any of us, regardless of any crime committed. The frightening precedent created is to create a crime during any investigation, even a frivolous one.

He may get off easy, but do you think the average person would?

Let him take it in the starfish a few times. I bet he starts naming names.

This is my feeling as well, he's going to cop a plea somehow, it'll be interesting who he will sail down the river and with what.

Correction, he's more Cheney's fall guy than Bush's. It's pretty clear that Libby was acting on Cheney's direction.

I agree, he wasn't even being tried for the what the investigation was about.

As for the pardon, Bush could do it today because he is a lame duck president.
