Liao Fan's Four Lessons was a book written by Mr Liao Fan-Yuan of the Ming Dynasty. The book was used to teach his son how to recognise the true face of destiny, how to tell true good from evil, and the method of correcting one's faults and practising kind deeds and cultivate virtue and humility. After reading this book, one may feel more open and confident towards life, and at the same time, courageously compelled to follow Mr Liao-Fan in changing one's original destiny.

Yeah it sounds a little corny...But it could help you in life....
This book relates to Buddhism and I personally have found this book "enlightening."
It's a pretty short book and now I can understand why some things happen in my life.
Just wanted to share this.

"A Person must be able to detect his faults every day in order to correct them every day. If you are unable to detect any faults in yourself, then improvement of character is out of the question. There are many intelligent people in the world who refuse to cultivate morality and virtue, and cannot put forth diligent effort in their work. Their failures later in life are owed to a single word : Laziness."
