I used a Lian Li pc60usb case when I built my system 2 years ago. It has been a great case but one thing that was annoying was that with a dual fan power supply you had to unscrew the bottom fan grille, insert the powersupply, and then screw it back on once inside the case. Not hard to do but kind of annoying. That was the model with 4 usb ports. Now I'm building a new system and I see that there is a pc60usb model with just 2 usb 2.0 ports. Does anybody have this newer version and does it still have the problem with the installing the power supply?

Pull out the mobo tray and lift the PSU into position from the mobo compartment :)

Hi CJP,

I own a Lian Li PC-65B case and do not have this problem. The reason is the power supply unit itself. The earlier power supplies mounted the fan on the psu case without recessing the brackets. My Enermax 465PE has the hold down screws for the fan guard recessed and there's no problem inserting the psu. My only suggestion would be to make sure the power supply you purchase in the future has this little "upgrade".

I hope this helped, :)

I also own a Lian Li PC65 usb and don't have the problem. Buick was right when he said that it's a psu issue not the case. The newer PSU's have recessed fans so it wont be a problem. I don't recall having any trouble installing my enermax 431whisper.

Ok, thanks guys. Do Antec power supplies have the recessed screws and grilles as well?

No, but like I said, you can simply pull out your removable motherboard tray and lift the power supply into position from the mobo compartment. :) That's how I did mine... here's a pic of it nearly finished: pic

Ok, thanks Mech. From what you say it doesn't look like it should be a problem then. I don't know why I didn't do as you say with my last lian li system and just remove the tray and slide the psu in from the inside.

I just bought a LL PC-61 and put it together (last night, in fact). And I have the same problem. An Antec SmartPower 480? i think... i put it together last night and i can't remember...

but anyway, it doesn't have a recessed bottom fan and I found that it is possible to fit the power supply in if you jiggle it around a little bit. I can't tell you exactly what I did, but I can tell you that i did manage to do it.

as a side note, its better than my old case, which had a similar problem, but the issue was clearance for the CPU FAN when trying to put the motherboard tray in.

good luck

I just put my system into a new PC-60 and didn't have any issues. I have an Antec TP430 and it has the bottom fan grill that sticks out a bit. It looks like Lian-Li made the power supply opening a bit larger to compensate for this. It's pretty obvious from the revised shape of the power supply hole that they did this especially for these power supplies.

I believe my PC-60 is close to the latest revision if not the latest. The front fan speed select switch sticks out through the front panel of the case right below the power/hd LEDs.

Yeah, mine's the same way, that's probably it. Lian-Li seems to be good at listening to reviewers and implementing the changes (upgrade to USB 2.0, top blowhole, etc)
