I'm not going to use this as a testing rack. I'm going to use it as a LAN party rig. The debut event will be
this one. I'm pretty excited because...
1) I bought the board (and CPU and RAM) back when it first came out, and since then it has been living on my living room floor collecting dust (literally sitting uncovered on top of the mobo box) waiting for the right case.
2) Though a small event, the MLC events are ALWAYS, ALWAYS really fun. I think it comes down to the fact that most people know each other at those events, plus everyone is expected to participate in whatever game is being played at the time. I've been to bigger LAN parties where if you weren't in whatever tournament was being played at the time, you basically didn't play anything multiplayer.
3) I've been with my current LAN party rig for way too long. Heck, the CPU is a Xeon E3110 that I bought when it first came out, so I've upgraded everything since then (and I mean EVERYTHING, CPU is only thing original... well, next to Windows XP), but still been on the same platform for quite a while. Time for something new.
And yes, aigomorla, I'll consider installing Windows 7, so you don't have to harangue me in PM anymore about using an antiquated OS.
this is a nice rack look forward to more pictures.

That could SO be taken out of context. ^_^
Anyways, I'll take more pictures when there's something interesting to take a picture of, such as when the drive bay adapter arrives. Estimated delivery date next Tuesday. Hmmm, I think I need to contact Performance-PCs to get a shipping discount because they cancelled an item in my order (a keyboard, OOS even though orderable on web site) but they still are charging me the same $15 for ground shipping on what is now a tiny 1 pound package. They only refunded the keyboard price.
Between now and then I'll have to decide on which graphics card to use, GTX 285 or GTX 295. My LAN party monitor is 1680x1050.
