Hi,
I am looking for a mini-itx or mini-itx/micro atx case that I can fit the Zotac 9300 motherboard in http://nvision.pl/img/200901/zotac_9300_itx_wifi_04.jpg
There are not a whole lot of pretty cases out there. One of the cases with some modding potential, the Lian Li PC-Q007, is a no go without modding it if you want to add a decent full height graphics card to it. Question is how do you do that cheaply, without wrecking the case???
thinking of removing 3 1/2 drive tray at bottom and modding 1/2 height pci slot to hold full height card. case is just over 8 inches across. A 3.5 inch hard drive would interfere with video card, but you could still mount SSD or other 2.5 inch HDD on bottom of case.D
Any ideas on how to mod the pci slot?
Lian Li screwed the pooch with having room for all the big items yet not allowing for a full height pci-e card and imo case should have been at least an inch wider to accomodate longer cards. With mod to pci slot... could fit BFG Geforce 9800 GT Full height, but shorter than other GeForce 9800's and uses 30% less power at load which would work ok with hybrid power with the Geforce 9300 and possibly a card like the AMD HD 4770 if power connector was at top of card and not extending from end. Could use Seasonic Eco 300 SFX power supply to complete the rig. Thoughts?
The Silverstone mini itx are an option, but imo don't look that great and Antec does not make one that will fit, let alone power full height video cards.
