Lian Li PC-7USB from AllStarShop.com

Hi,

I was searching for Lian Li cases and came across THIS ONE at AllStarShop.com.

$113 for a "stripped down PC-60USB".

The blurb says ...

<< The Lian Li PC-7USB is a trimmed down version of the PC-60USB. This case has all the features of PC-60USB, except the adjustable fan controller and 5-in-1 connector. >>

I've just checked the Lian Li web site and I cannot find this thing. (Doesn't mean anything. I am a moron after all.)

Anyone have one of these? Anyone know anything about it?

In their catalog iut looks the same as the PC-60 except has the slotted vent in front like the PC-69. They don't give any other info though.

It has a nicer face than the PC-69

They help quite a bit. Aluminium conducts heat pretty well. It is why they make heatsinks out of it. 🙂

As to the PC-7. They sell them at compusa.

It is a lot like the PC-60USB. EXCEPT it does not have a slide out motherboard tray. It is missing the fan speed control for the front fans. It is not thumbscrews only. The PCI slots use regular screws.

I think I'll just hunt down a PC-60USB somewhere and suck it up on the price. $113 would have been nice but I guess it just isn't going to happen. 🙁

They're lighter, for cooling, it probably doesnt make a difference, especially in my case, its at room temperature, so no matter.

Pc-60 USB has 5 bays for hard drives behind the intake fans. PC-60 and PC-7 has only 3 which is still plenty. Only major differnce is that pc-7 does not have a slideout mobo tray.

I went to the Buena park computer show today to check out some cases and I can tell first hand that quality on those cheap aluminum cases are just not there compared to lians.

If your looking for cheap aluminum case, do youself a favor and spend extra $20 to get the pc-7. Even the finish on the case itself is worth the extra money.

Oh, the Lian Li PC-7 seemed to be a quality case. I would really like to get a PC-60 now. If I have to buy a new case I'd buy it over my Antec Rattlemaster, I mean Antec 830, any day of the week.

It was solid. Light. Very nice.

I REALLY want that slide out mobo tray.

I'm having that "you don't really NEED this you just WANT this" guilt or I would have the PC-60 on order by now. 🙂

I think your playing the nickels and dime game like I did while ago.

This was me few weeks ago.

"Wow, I can get a genuine Lian Li PC-7 for $110 and it's just like the PC-60"

"Hmm, I can spend little more and get the PC-60 with the slide out mobo tray for 40 bux more"

"Well, I might as well spend another 10 bux to get the USB version. I might as well....

" SO I went and got the PC-60 USB at a computer show for $165 and was happy for 3 whole days.

"Hmm, for only 40 bux more, I can get a window and transform it into a PC-65, and wow, It would look great if I buy some cathode at BGmicro for 20 bux"

My window arrived yesterday and my inital $110 case turned into a whopping $225 case..

BTW. I'm already looking at the 3.5" bay cover w/ a switch at Frozencpu to go with my cathode for 14 bux.

God I hate myself....
