I am almost set on this case but now im kind of worried.
I heard some Lian Li cases have reverse airflow, intake in the rear of the case and exhaust in the front? Does this case have that design because I certainly don't want it if it does.

That would be about the only thing to stop me from buying this case.

Thanks for the help. :)

Some of the newer LianLi's do have reverse airflow. Really weird, especially coming from a company w/so much know-how.

But, the PC-7A is not one of them. It's got normal airflow. Better pics on their site. Front fan is intake, side panel fan is intake, rear and upper fans are exhaust.

This case does have a side intake fan though. IMO, side intakes and/or grills disrupt airflow and just let more noise out of the case. Side intakes and fans are the latest trend though and unfortunately what's kept me from purchasing a new case of my own.

Anyway, it is a nice case; it's a LianLi. :) I think you'll be very happy with it.

I am having a hard time finding a picture of the side of the PC-7A plus II

Does is have a side intake fan? Or do you know where theres a picture of the side of it?

The PC-7B plus II shows in the pics that it has a side vent/intake fan but the PC-7A don't?

Edit. It seems it does have a side vent I think. Some of the pictures don't show it but maybe that is a different case.

I do have one more question about this case.

Will it be able to provide sufficient cooling for a 8800 GTX?

Meaning that it only has 2 120mm fans is that enough for a GTX or
do I need a different case with more fans?

According to some of the Customer Reviews on Newegg's item page it does have a side panel fan/vent; though LianLi's page doesn't mention it.

It will be more than enough cooling for a 8800GTX. :)

Lian Li has one of the worst web sites for product descriptions. It looks like they have dropped the PC-7 Plus II series and gone back to the old PC-7 Plus series. The older Plus series, I own a PC-7A Plus, had vent holes on the back and 4 screw holes to accomodate the BS-01 blower but no vent holes on the side panel. The Plus II series had vent holes in the side panel to acccomodate the BS-02 blower. The pics of the PC7A-Plus II on the Coolerguys and the Sundial Micro websites show that the PC-7A Plus II has side and back vent holes.

No, this case doesn't have reverse airflow, as other have noted. But even if it did, you could most likely just flip the fans and mount them so they draw air in the opposite direction.

Lian Li: Great computer cases, terrible website!

Good luck!

p.s. here's a good place to get Lian Lis at good prices:

Why don't you want reverse airflow? Seems to me like fresh outside air blowing onto the CPU is a good thing...

Yeah, besides, it keeps your optical drives from getting too cool.

Good idea!

Dude, I'm reversing the air flow in my laptop!

Lian-Li hasn't even thought of that yet... :D

LOL! I agree 100%, ergo the quote in my sig. :D Such great products...they really need to hire someone to redo their pages with a real layout with real pics, with clear English descriptions. No offense intended, of course.

@Throckmorton - fresh, cool air blowing on the CPU is always a great idea. But you have to keep the airflow pattern steady inside a case.

If you have a front fan blowing in from the front providing cool air and a rear fan blowing out sucking out hot air that's good. The air is constantly moving and all parts (HD, chipset, videocard, CPU) get cooled.

When you start adding vents/fans in the side, you disrupt that "flow". You introduce cool air, sure, but then hot air gets trapped in pockets inside the case and doesn't get pulled out by the rear fan.

Some servers have NO exhaust fans, but 6-8, high-rpm 80mm fans all pulling air in from the front PUSHING the air out the back. The idea is always to either push, pull or a combo of both, the air from front to back. :)
