Lian Li PC-7 Plus vs Kingwin 424...... any thoughts?

I'm looking to purchase one of these cases and am having a hard time deciding between the two. The Lian-Li's 120mm fans are a great plus while the Kingwin's 2mm thick construction would be sturdier. Any thoughts? Thanks, Scott

If only the 7B Plus was available back then it would probably be the case in my sig instead of the KT-424.I like the 7B Plus' 120mm fans and top blowhole.

what are you looking for? More overclock or LAN party advantage. Also, would you hard mod the case?

Just a little FSB bumping Barton 2800 now running at 2.2ghz. No hard mods to the case. Sits on a shelf in the living room so it must look pleasing to the eye as both these cases do. I'm leaning towards the Kingwin as it has the classier looking window. Also wondering ig the Lian-Li's stealth bay covers will fit the Kingwin?

i have the lian-li PC-7B, its a great case here are the cons since im sure you can see the goods in any review
cons:
-cable management- you cant really hide behind the motherboard like in some cases
-it really doesnt have fabulous airflow with 2 80mm in front and 1 80mm in back, also the fans it come with suck i had to buy new ones
-its easy to scratch the sides when moving it

that may make the case sound bad but its honestly the best case ive ever had, it looks great- especially if you decide to put light fans in front cuz you can see 'em through the grill, its super light, its somewhat small and portable compared to some cases, and its a all around good quality case.

The OP is talking about the 7B Plus with 120mm intake and exhaust.

Well i have a KT-424 and its been great but like i said i'd rather have bigger fans(the 7B-Plus).

get the lian li but the kingwin is so much cheaper, it can be had for less than 100 bucks at case-mod.com You can also modify the rear to fit a 92mm fan which I did. It's worked out great and all you need to do is drill 4 new holes to for the 92mm to fit. The one thing I dont' like about the case is are the auto sliding brackets... it's a pain in the @ss and I would not recommend this case if you're wanting to isntall some other device in the 5.25. For example a double reservoir a case fan controller ect.

Winner- Kingwin 424

If these were priced the same it might be a tie but the Kingwin wins for features, price and availability. The Lian Li is notable for the inclusion of 120mm fans and the brand name badge on the front panel. If this is not important to you or will add your own cooling solution the Kingwin takes it. You could not go wrong with either one, though. They look almost identical on the outside except for a few minor details.

Hey Eternus - I've got a KT424 and want to swap out those stock fans - they're driving me nuts. Could you tell me if you've been able to switch any of the stock 80mm fans with larger, quieter ones?

I've been able to switch the stock Evercool fans with Panaflo L1A's, not that hard to do really. Just slip a flat object (flat end of a pair of scissors e.g.) under those black plastic thumbtacks (or whatever they're called) that holds the stock fan in place & pry 'em off. You can reuse them if/when you attach the replacement fans.

I replaced my fans in my kt424 with vantec stealths and am using a nexus controller. It is really quiet and keeps pretty cool at low speeds for extended gaming periods. Once i get a better power supply that will help too. The antec 300w sl hardly moves any air.

I will say the rubber mounting hard drive things help quiet things down and the motherboard mounts are very easy and enjoyed using them.

I just finished a system with a Lian Li PC-71 (Server/Full Tower) case.
It's a great case. The "hard" annodized aluminum is really rugged.
As others have said, the fans are...well poor. Other than that it's well made,
no sharp edges, easy to open/close and really looks great, Then again, $$$$

Found a aluminum Kingwin/Superflower case and bought it. Just got it today. I wanted a window and this one has three. One on each side and one on top. Light as a feather and very nice looking. Silver with blue tinted windows. I like it.
