Lian-Li PC-65 airflow issues

So I've got a Lian-Li PC-65. I have two of these in the front for intake, one on an SLK-800, and one for exhaust. I then have an Antec Trueblue 480 PSU with a slow moving exhaust fan.

When I have the side piece of the case on, my CPU temps will go up to about 50 degrees C. With the side panel off, it idles around 37 degrees C. The insides of my case are pretty well organized for airflow. Better than 95% of the computers I see in person and online.

I guess my question is, where's the hang up? Should I try modding in an additional exhaust fan?

Thanks for any advice you guys can give!

Do you have the front intake fans running at 12v, 7v or 5v? The 3-position switch on the front of the case allows for three voltages/speeds.

Is your filter clean? The front is the only intake for the PC65; a dirty filter will kill airflow. I also have a PC65 and my temps are actually a bit higher than yours (OEM CPU HSF). It is one hot running case.

The key to lowering temps is to get more fresh, cool air into the case. Run the front fans at full speed. You may want to look into cutting the middle of the air filter holder out.

mechBgon has an excellent pictorial guide on doing this. PM him for a link.

I actually have the front fans running on a normal molex connector from the PSU as the ones on the speed select circuit don't light up the LEDs on the fans. The filter is clean. i make sure to do that every couple weeks or so. Oh well. I'll just get a new case with my next upgrade.

Doesnt your case have a top fan as well? Make sure that is exhausting. When your temps go up with the panel off, that probably means that your intake is not strong enough. or is being diffused too much before the air can channel to the exhaust. If you arent using your floppies try this: Double stick tape a decent (panaflo L1A, Evercool 80mm, whatever have you, into teh floppy area to pull air from the front and push it tot he rear. This decreased my overall temps by 5C. Also, if you get rid of the pull out harddrive mount, it helps cooling a bit as well. In addition, the filter decreases your airflow by at least 50%. If you dont mind taking an air can to your case every 2 weeks, get rid of the filter.
