I can't figure out why people obsess over these plain, boring cases.

Putting the classy or dull issue aside, why on earth do they come without a reset switch? I mean does Lian-Li really think we no longer wand to soft-reset our PC and it never ever hangs on us? It reminds me of the Packard Bell PC's in 1998, they too didn't have a reset switch but ran Windows 98.

Is it too much to ask?
My PC-60BPlusII has a reset switch. Most LL's do in fact. Is it too much to ask that you know wtf you're talking about before making generalist and misinformed comments like that? Seriously, if you want to end this discussion, start a poll in a new thread with a simple "Like Lian Li?" and have people vote on scale of 1 - 5. I'm quite certain you'll have 80+% in the 1 or 2 (Substantially exceeds / Exceeds expectations) categories.

I'm not gay or anything, but I luv you!!! :D

I've been asking the same thing, ever since I've been on AnandTech!

If you woke me up in the middle of the night, beat me with a rubber hose, and stuck a gun in my mouth, I would NEVER run a Lian-Li case -=- that's how much I hate them!

That can be arranged!!!

LOL

Mine also has a bling factor. It's modded like hell.

Fit all those components inside another case. It's a challenge.
Down section:
1 Vapo LS unit + Chill Control and other electronics
4 HDDs
1.1Kw PSU

Upper section
The usual (Video cards, Sound card, CPU, cooler, memory, DVD-RWs)
4 Laing DDC Ultras
2 Swiftech res
1 BIX II
1 BIX I
and lots of tubing.

I love Lian Li because it's sturdy. This computer weights 110 pounds (50kg). Cheaper cases would break apart under than weight.

A nice example of class and style combined.

No gaudy 250mm fan necessary. Those things make me want to puke. We should call them cropdusters, because they do nothing but allow noise to escape the case (where it should be trapped and dampened), and suck in as much dust as possible.

Of course, the question might be asked why the window is cut to show the side of your drive enclosure, but that's getting really nitpicky. Ripe for sticker placement imo.

I got two PC-6x cases in use and also had a V1000 for while as well. Nice cases and all but the aluminum is too soft for my liking. Feel like I can bend these over my knee in half not to mention they show every little scratch in and out.

The reset but is useful for troubleshooting, but useless when the system is stable.

My Lian Li has one but I wouldn't miss it if it was gone.

I'm with the OP. I don't really like the LL cases myself either...
Bwahahaha!

BUSTED!!! :D

That's not a Lian Li brand fan controller--that's a special mod of the Sunbeam Rheobus from the one and only Performance PCs. I've got one of these and it's so frickin' beautiful I'd kiss VinDSL on the lips if he were wearing it around his neck!

I like how my V1100 is clean looking. My next case should Antec not of released their next Super Lanboy yet would be the Lian-Li PC-A05.

{edit}

And since they're not sold at a lot of B&M stores you see less of them at lan parties.

Speaking of Lian Li, I've been looking at their PC-A12. Anyone have one?? Any feedback??

It looks like the interior design is very similar to Antec Sonata.

I'm not sure which is best Sonata III vs Lian Li PC A12. Price is also comparable but Antec provides a power supply.

I also like the Lian Li PC 20B but it seems overcomplicated with fan baffles, motherboard tray, power supply adapters, etc. I also don't like it's $200 price tag and 80 mm rear exhaust fan.

I've actually thought the opposite. I look at all these silly cases with spotlights, noise-makers, 20lbs of dubious add-ons and just wonder who the hell? I'm all for making your case yours but there are way too much gaudy crap out there. I'm a very happy owner of a Lian Li PC-7S.

I don't think Lian Li cases are boring at all. Well atleast not my v-1000. But then again I'm the kind of person who can't stand flashy led lights. Also the sliver finish matches the rest of my furniture nicely.

And regarding support in the U.S. I bought my Lian Li from Silver PC's in Brea, CA and when I went to their office to pick it up they were really nice and told me to come back if I ever needed anything or if there were any problems with the case. In fact one of the employees had waited an hour past closing time because I had called and told them I was stuck in traffic. However, like most people, I've never heard about anyone getting support from Lian Li directly.

I'm not an expert in LL cases, but a case with a rear intake fan and a front exhaust fan seems a little far-fetched. Though you could always flip the fans around.

I just built a V1000 plus ll for my boss, he loved the look of the case, & so did his wife...LOL

I liked the layout, however find the SATA cables too short to have the drives at the front with the mobo we installed. Still the temps are good and its quieter than his old pc..

I have a Silverstone TJ06 which i build at the beginning of the year, dead black inside and out, but to be honest, I'm a little jealous now....

My rigs are LLs. Built many steel-based computers and almost had an hernia with a full tower once.
Accidentally came across a used LL and never went back to steel again.

Quality and all the positive vibes on LLs kept me there ever since.
All the flash, bells and whistles fade away on the other makes and IMO Lian Li makes the finest cases.
