Hello
I am trying to figure out a way to cool down my system a little more, I think it is running WAY to hot. The temperatures at ambien are in the topic. When I turn on any game (WOW for example) my CPU goes up to 140-142F & the System(1) 110F & System(2) 125F.
I dont know what else to do.
Here are my system spects.

Lian Li case PC-65 (2 fans on the front, intake)(1 fan at the top & on the back, exhust)
Moded side panel on Lian Li with two fans intake.
Intel Mobo D865PERL
PIV 3.2 GHz (HT on)
Thermalright Heatsink SLK947U with the 70MM TMD fan (I still dont know if this is a good fan since it is smaller fan.)
1 GB of Corsair Extreme Memory
2 x WD Raptors 74GB SATA, 10K RPM drives, set as Raid0 (I am sure there is heat coming from them)
Leadtek GeForce 6800 GT 256MB with the original heatsink & fan
Leadtek WinTV XP2000 TV card
2 CDRoms (Pioneer DVDRW, LiteOn CDRW/DVD)
500W Aspire PSU

I am using all rouded cables, cables are (for the most part) clean & organized.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Question, please let me know.

Thank you

P.S. I will add a photo of the case in a little bit.

Thank you
Mark

1st off what cpu is it, also keep inmind that if this is a new cpu, it might just be that you wrongly applied the thermal paste, or even a chip that performs bellow specs (in which case i would tell you to rma)

This is a P4 3.2 Socket 478 Prescott

I am using Arctic Silver 5 on it
I may have to thick of a layer on the CPU but keep in mind that my System Temperature also gets kind of high

Thanx for the reply

Your CPU is at about 61c if my calculations are right. Thats reasonable for a "pres-hot." 43-53c does seem a little warm for your system temp. Temps from your mobo can be a little off btw.

IIRC, that Aspire PSU has a dinky 80mm fan. You might want to consider a PSU with either a 120mm or 140mm fan to help with your case venting so you can keep the mobo temps down.

HTH.
