Lian Li Case Fan removal/install concerns

I recently ordered a PC-7 and it comes w/ 3 stock 80mm fans which i hear are uber loud and I'm a fan of a quiet computer. So I've decided to order 3 vantec 80mm Stealth fans. There was a great post on how to remove the stock fans because people where having problems.

I was wondering if the screws that come w/ my fans will work instead of those plungers?

Yeah the screws work I did the same thing when I swapped out the fans in my Lian Li with panaflows. One thing to be aware of; you may get some small alluminum shavings when you thead the screws threw.

Have you read it?

I have swapped out the ADDA fans that come w/LianLi cases for other fans and have REUSED those plungers. You will not need to use fan screws (unless you really want to!) the plungers, if removed correctly, are reusable!!!

Once you get the hang of how they "work" they are pretty neat to use.

Yeah, you can reuse them but it requires a fair amount of patience (not really that much...), I got really pissed and ended up using a wire cutter on mine (destroying things is fun). Afterwards I took what was left of the plungers and blew them up with a few sticks of dynamite (not really).

It actually not very difficult to take out the black plungers. I have found them very useful and used them in the 3 fan swaps that i have done with the lian li pc65. Simply take a small screwdriver, and push out the shaft of the "rivot" and it should pop out. There should then be a small separation between the head of the plunger and the case, use the screw driver, and pry it out. Should not take much effort at all. In fact you can use your fingers to remove them if you have strong finger nails.

For the front 2 fans, i suggest putting them with the plunger shaft pointing out the front, so you can take a screwdriver and remove them with ease next time. If the shaft is pointing into the case, its really hard to see the shaft and then remove it since it will be pretty cramped.
