A quiet PC and something pretty stylish is important to me. I was thinking
about the Sonata, but I just can't get over the damn drill holes they had
to put on the sides :(

I really love the look of the Lian-Li 6070, and am about to put an order
in, but I was hoping an owner of this case could give me a few answers to
some questions I have.

Are the fans that come with the case quiet? I remember reading a post about
Lian-Li pre-installed fans being installed via rivets. Are the 6070's fans
riveted, and if so, can they still be semi-easily replaced with something
else (Pabst or Panaflow) if I think they are too loud?

Does the foam insulation greatly increase the heat in the case? I wonder if
having it there means your fans have to work harder, thus reducing any
quieting effect the foam is supposed to give.

The back of the case has a 80mm exhaust fan. Is it possible to fit a 120mm
there? If so, is that with or without pulling the Dremel out :) ? It
doesn't really look like there is much room there from the images I have
seen.

Does the door allow enough room to have a fan constoller and the knobs
sticking out, or will you be unable to close the door if one is installed?

Thanks!

Rivets? :Q Crap, I hope not. I just purchased a PC65B (Black PC60 with a window, essentially)

Let me pull up some pics....

Damn, those are either rivets or hex key screws...can't tell.

Can't tell in this pic either But if you look at the inside mounting surface of the exhaust fan, you can't see any "extra screw thread" sticking out.

I read about 20 reviews of my case before purchasing it...some on "case modder" sites and nobody mentioned anything about the fans being riveted in. You would think if that was the case, somebody would've said something, right?

Now you've got me worried, as I have every intention of replacing the stock fans with either Panaflo L1As or major case fans and hooking them to a fan bus. Damn. :|

How hard is it to get the rivets out? I believe you have to drill them out. WHEN the bit slips...there goes my shiny new case. SH!T!!

Skinsfan44, I got it, man!! We are saved! They are not metal rivets, but PLASTIC push in dealies. These are off a review of the PC60, but I'm pretty sure LianLi uses the same method for all their cases.

The fans were a little difficult to replace, but it can be done if you put a little effort in to it. Had to buy some fan screws because I couldn't figure out how the plastic ones came out so I ended up messing several up :p A little bitty flathead will pry those things out easily

See review by "Big Monkey" here.

Ah! And the one-liner by "Jo" right underneath it.

The case fans are real easy to remove, need nose plyers to loose the fan holders. They come right out.

:D:D:D:D:D

Hopefully, the holes in the case for the plastic thingees are standard size fan screw holes.

Yes, Lian-Li cases uses push-pins to install the fans, quite nice.

The fans that come stock with the case are decent, quite good compared with all other fans I've seen come wtock with cases. They're not too loud at max and runs fine on lower voltages if you want them slower (all the way down to 5v, haven't tested lower). Push a respectable cfm compared to noiselevel too.

Are the fans that come with the case quiet?
I've got a 6070, and I changed out all three fans that the case came with. They are the simple plastic push-pin mounts, and changing them out takes only a few minutes. All three fans were ADDA AD0812DB-A70GL's which are rated at 15dBA and 20.5CFM. Very quiet, but not enough airflow with the insulation of the case if you're running alot of hot components. I swapped out both front intakes for Vantec Stealth's to get a little more suck without much more noise and put a Thermaflo in for the exhaust. That is the fan I can hear now, the rest of the case is very quiet.
Does the foam insulation greatly increase the heat in the case?
I mentioned this a little above, but yes the insulation increases heat but not by a huge amount. With all of the intake air coming through a filter, through an intake opening in the bottom front of the case I found something a little heftier was better off up front, hence the Stealth's over the Adda's.
The back of the case has a 80mm exhaust fan. Is it possible to fit a 120mm
You might be able to get a 92mm in there, but I think a 120 is pushing your luck. Just to get the 92 in you'd be pulling out the dremel.
Does the door allow enough room to have a fan constoller
Yep, it should accomodate most of them. The door gives clearance for knobs to stick out about 1.5cm I think, you should be able to find a controller that comes in under that without too much trouble.

get some evercool 80mm. 30cfm@30dba their 120mm is awesome though 87cfm@29dba

You'll enjoy it. Lian-Li's are a joy to work with, a thumb screws, slide out mobo tray... it's pretty effortless to change out parts. I heard someone say they think it looks like a Sub Zero fridge and I and think that's right on.
