LGA775 question

I have been AMD for a while so its been a long time since I installed anything intel, I think the last one was a slot design. Anyway, building a new system and I am using a Core 2 Duo CPU. Never worked with the socket 775. I was very careful placing the CPU on the socket and got everything lined up ok. Now, the amount of force required to lock the load plate down after placing the CPU seemed excessive to me, coming from the world of ZIF sockets. Is it just me? Did I ****** something up? No vid card yet so I wont know for sure until this evening but I am just wondering.

TIA

You and probably everyone else doing it for the first time. As long as the CPU was properly seated, you have nothing to worry about.
