I was at a shop here in Japan today and they had MSI and Gigabyte mobos for the grantsdale and alderwood chipset for sale. They also were selling the 3.2 LGA775 Prescott.
 
i just read through the bechmarks and i am kinda dissapointed
the price/performance leap is definately not worth it
even with like twice the memory bandwidth the 775 coupled with the prescott was getting stompted by the p4ee 200mhz slower with 5 to 10% margins in gaming benchmarks
the increased mem bandwidth is obviousely not paying off and latencies seem to be less than spectacular

still it is a needed upgrade in intel's path i suppose 🙂
 
Yeah I have seen the benchmarks too and the current chipset still is the way to go. If you can afford the p4ee that is the chip to have still.
 
Yikes, Intel is churning out less than stellar ideas as of late? I'm still waiting on their dual core design, that might be nice.
