LGA775 mobo died, time to upgrade?

Recently my LGA775 mobo died, leaving me with a E6600 processor.

Two options I see are to buy a new LGA775 mobo and continue on like nothing happen, or upgrade processor and mobo to take advantages of some of the prices now (wolfdales, phenom 2 x4 etc)

I rarely overclock, and before the mobo died my conroe was running everything I wanted just fine. I think it may be better to just get a new mobo and keep on trucking along until those high end intels drop in price..

any suggestions?
