Any good LGA775 air coolers that could handle a Q9550 at like 4.2ghz with decent temperatures? Thanks! :)

Wonder if what I ask is out of the question, hehe.

Define "decent". :)
I had a Q6700 @ 3.2ghz running ~51c using a Coolermaster N620.
I know 3.2 is a far cry from 4.2, but the Q9xxx runs a little cooler than the Q6xxx, don't they?

For 4.2 ghz, you might to go with watercooling. The highest I've gotten was 4.0ghz, 10 hrs. + on prime (haven't tried OCCT or Linx yet). All of the 9550's I've seen also run at 4.0 or below, but I don't want to speak for all the Q9550 owners out there :). Some of the better aircoolers out there though would be TRUE, Megahalem, IFX-14 if you can fit it, Zalman CNPS10X Extreme, Noctua UH-12P, Tuniq Tower 120X, Hyper 212, V8/10, Xigmatek, etc. There are a ton, but you might be better off with the Corsair H50 (pretend it's air).

I run Zalman 9700's on both of my 8400's @ 4.0 without issues.

Quads put out considerably more heat.

Your best bet is a Megahalems or TRUE. Aside from that, look into watercooling (Corsair H50 is half-way decent, and a decent $200-300 self-built custom setup should do fairly well.)

I agree with the above poster. If you want to hit 4.2 on one of those quad cores you are going to need a pretty beefy cooler. The ones listed above will go along way in helping you reach your goal along with low ambient temperatures.
