Howdy All!

I could use some of your knowledge. I'm building a budget PC and my mobo calls for an intel LGA1155 cpu. I had planned to use
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125775
or
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...31695&cm_re=red_dragon-_-14-131-695-_-Product
as my video card.

What cpu would be a good pairing? Main use of my rig would be music production and light, light gaming.
The 460 is a lot faster. That's the better choice. Compare them here. GPU Benchmarks. The GT 730 scores 927. The RX 460 scores 4320. Not even close.

The integrated graphics are pretty poor. Look on eBay for an i3 or better. Should be around $20.

The Sandy Bridge is still being produced today for POS retail systems, but not yet on Ivy Bridge.

It is scary to think that the GT 730 might very well have outsold the RX460 over the last 6 months. But yeah, they are two completely different classes of cards.

I built my current LGA 1155 system close to five years ago. I would think you could get some good deals on a used CPU.

How about an i5-3750k?
I ended up buying the i5. I don't think I'll regret it. Thanks for the hook up! And to everyone else, thanks for the input!
