Not surprising, you can still buy socket 478 and socket A stuff.

But will they release any newer CPUs for it? A 32nm Quad perhaps...

I know they won't, but it would be very useful for an easy upgrade.

well they wont be converting over every fab they have to 45nm right away.

i would imagine for machines that will support ddr2, and say single and dual core lower end machines they will keep supporting it. i would doubt any 32nm 775 cpus though. but the same thing happened with their 65nm fabs when 45nm came out. they still kept producing the e4600 / e4700 and they still produce e2200 and celeron 400 chips even though some lines have moved to 65nm. I would imagine it will be at least another 6-9 monts before they have all cpus moved over to 45nm or better.. and chipsets on 65nm.

I'm still hoping to pick up a Quad 65 watt chip down the road. Hopefully the price will drop a bit...

they have the S series chips.

I think one site basically did a test and the Q8200 probably shoudl be a 65W chip anyway.

I think many sites have shown the E7300 barely uses more than 25-30W at load, and a q8200 is just 2 of them.

Intel's P45, G45, G43 and G41 chipsets are being refreshed and they should be good for mainstream and value in the next two years. The key thing in the refresh is DDR3 support, which should keep the platform alive and kicking.
Apparently, nobody told Abazovic that P45, G45, G43, and G41 have supported DDR3 from the start. In fact, so have P35, G35, and G33.

yeah p35 boards can use ddr3.

stuff still sits around. although INTEL just got sued from china for making chips that they couldn't even pay for. LOL

don't excpect much outta the next couple of years. i7's are still rolling around and AMD has yet to catch up. long behold 2012 computers won't save you. guns will :]
