LGA 775 mobo's using DDR anyone have any expericence with this ?

I was looking to get a 775 mobo but don't want to pay the hi prices of DDR 2 , I see ASUS makes a board 775 socket but uses DDR regular, any suggestions ? how do these boards stack up against intel's for stability? thanks

Most people using the new Intel chipsets are still using DDR memory. Stability is the same.

i dont see many boards that support DDR 1, can you use regular ddr in the boards that says ddr2 ?

No. It must be a 915P board that supports DDR.

Why not just go athlon 64? ddr2 is more expensive and is slower.

If you absolutely have to buy right now, PCI-E is an attractive option. A64 is still tied to AGP, which is soon to be extinct.
