LGA 1366 i7 mobo possible upgrade?

I was just wondering about my motherboard. Newegg says it is for the i7 quad core CPU but it has the same socket as needed by the upcoming i9 6 core. Could I swap it out?

I know what some of you may say "You don't even need four for playing games yet", but when I built the machine it was meant as a lower cost alternative to the Xeon, because I didn't want to slap $4000 on the table for a good workstation for my 3D rendering to fly. With 3D rendering, programs are specifically coded to utilize every core.

So there's my question, does anyone know if it would work if it's the same slot, or do other things factor in?

Yea it should work, maybe with or without a bios update. but yes the 6 core gulftown is on 1366 and should*** work with any current x58 board.
