It's quite humorous when I go to the product page I get a product line info page with the following:

such a huge company these days, and seemed to have changed their focus from crap low end market to competing at the top tier segment with innovation...

i need a fridge... has anyone purchased theirs?

i looked at 1 model and it's made in MExico.. so is GE these days...most if not all their units..

on another note, who makes them in USA... i'm sure NO maker makes ALL their units in USA, but any lines that would be?

I heard maybe Frigidaire's Galleria? line may be....

and I heard Kitchenaid.. full line? are....

kitchenaid and whirlpool are. I can grab the sheet that tells exactly when I go back to work on Tues. The LG and the GE were made in mexico?? No way!!!! (LG makes the GE)

Go Whirlpool or Amana, you won't regret it. Amanas (made in the same factory and owned by Maytag) are the best fridges IMHO. They use a dual-thermostat system which is alot more efficient and accurate. The icemakers actually use a steel auger vs the plastic of any other manufacturer....I can go on and on.

LG isnt bad, but you can do better for less money.

Thats all from your friendly neighborhood appliance salesman.

i never owned any maytag stuff... amana? heard of them, sorta barely....

they don't have much market share do they...

why did maytag make a 'amana' line? where does it fit in the market segment.
it's not like maytag even sounds like 'whirlpool' or 'ge'...

it amana a 'hidden' secret in a good buy?

I am not sure of their marketshare. Maytag didnt just start making an amana line. Amana was its own company, then it was bought out by maytag.

Amana makes a whole lineup, from entry level to high end. The thing is you wont find them at the big box stores. If you do, its a very small mix. Head out to a real appliance store, they will have plenty of Amana stuff. Take a look at it in person, it will be worth your trip.
