I like what I saw at Home Depot. Anyone with experience?

Update2: Had it delivered yesterday. Now it is dead. Code on the front says motor overload, no matter what I do. :| - :(

update3: Called their service, they gave me a key sequence to punch in, and it has been working fine. Apparently this may happen in the first few loads. Looks like its going well now.

5 year warr.: $90

I have one!

Front load washer (Don't remember which model off the top of my head).

I've had it for 2 years now and it's better than the whirlpool top loader that I used to have. It saves on water and electricity. I've never had a single problem with it and don't expect to from the way it performs. I even bought the extra large capacity model (I think it was 3.74 cuft). There are many preprogrammed modes and I've already set some of my own programs.

The LG uses a direct drive system, which I think most new front loaders do. The thing is whisper quiet! I can't tell if it's on except for the sound of swooshing water. The only possible complaint I could have with it is that because it is meant to save water, the cycle time is a bit longer.

Oh yeh, it comes with video instructions.

LG appliances are actually manufactured by the Big-name manufacturers.
General Electric (IIRC) used to make them, but I'm not sure who does now.
You can expect the same quality as from a Brand name machine, but probably less in features.

You and I must have the same one. I've had mine for about 2 years also and really like it.

I saw it there, $1500. After the bad things that happened to our 1st year Maytag Neptune, I'll never buy another widget that hasn't been around for a few years to get the bugs out.

Just curious - why would you give Home Depot a piece of your mind? If they have lousy service and won't fix/replace it in a timely manner, I can see it, but they sold you what they believed to be a good product. LG is the company I'd be ticked at right now.

WOW thanks for this thread, I just replaced my microwave and saw LG made appliances (naive little me thought only cellphones and other electronics ;) ), but I did not know much about them so I went with my usual brand. I am in the market to buy a new dish washer also, and was considering LG. Please update again! :)

My family has a cell phone plan with Verizon and we went through 5 replacement LG phones between the 4 of us. LG makes junk phones and now I know they make junk appliances.

Do a google search on LG complaints, and you'll see that many people are having problems with their stuff...Does "LG" stand for "low grade"?

Is LG a merged company? Someone told me that LG means Lucky Goldstar or something like that. I had a Goldstar CD-ROM drive that came with my HP. Wasn't good as far as features, but I never had a problem with it.

Have LG Washer/Dryer and Fridge. Household of 4 people means lots of laundry, and have had no problems yet. We have the LG Tromm W/D set and the french door with bottom freezer fridge.

LG Rocks! I am sure if you contact HD or LG they will gladly have your problem resolved quickly. Any mass manufactured product is due to have a bad apple in the bunch.

BTW: Did you remove the shipping bolts from the back before using it? These bolts hold the drum in place during transit, and I would assume that if you ran it with the bolts still in there, it would be a surefire way to burn out the motor.

The bolts were removed by the HD people when they set it up. Look at my update, seems to be working quite well now (knock on plastic)...

I love the washer and dryer! They're so quiet and actually entertaining to watch. You would never know they were running with the garage door closed.
