I need to buy a new monitor for my new pc. I'm in a very tight budget and I'm going to buy a 15" conventional CRT monitor. Out of these 3 manufacturers (LG, Viewsonic , Samsung), what would be the best monitor to select.

I found some models like Viewsonic's E55 LG studioworks 500.........

Please help me to select the best monitor with best image quality and features.......

Viewsonic makes very nice displays, but they usually come at a premium. Samsung makes very nice displays as well, but id check reviews as they are kind of hit and miss. LG i dont know much about, so id get more user opinions as well.

i just replaced a viewsonic 19" with a 17" Samsung LCD. The viewsonic lasted me from July of 2000 until a few weeks ago until it burned out. Great monitor. It was even kept on for days at a time with no problems. I would do some research and buy the better models since all manufacturers have their cheapo, midrange and nice montors. As a brand i'd buy viewsonic again. I was even considering one of their 17" LCD screens, but my wife liked the look of the 172X better.

Well, if possible, why not look into a bigger monitor? I don't know if it's still going on or not but Office Depot had a deal on a 19 inch KDS monitor for $97 after rebates. I think there was a $100 mail-in rebate on it. You might check into that if you have an Office Depot near you. :) I don't know what your budget is but if you can get a 19 inch monitor for about $100......I don't see that you'd do any better if you could get a 15 inch one for 60 or 70. That's just my .02 though......

*edit* Looks like that deal is dead.....but they seem to run it every so often so you might wait on it if the monitor isn't an immediate concern. :)

well i owned a lg 1730 15" monitor, it still works even to this date.. hmm.. must be around 6-8 years now... it was good for a few years, then it started to have a blurriness problem.. but as i like to play around with monitors i can open the monitor up and adjust the focus, though wouldn't suggest that if u don't know much about electronics.

try going for sony ;)
