LG vs Acer LCD?

I'm looking into two possibilities for LCD's at the moment and I've narrowed it down to the following:

LG L226WTY-BF Black 22" 2ms

Acer AL2223Wd Black-Silver 5ms

The LG is $100 more expensive than the Acer, but is it worth the extra cost? I plan on using this monitor for quite a bit and carry it over to other system builds. For my build in a few weeks, I plan to use it for gaming, Vista, movies, etc... I'm trying to purchase good peripherals in carry over to other builds and enhance the computing experience. 🙂

Because I'm in college, I don't have a car and it's a hassle for me to ride the shuttle bus over to Best Buy to take a look so I plan on ordering everything on newegg.

Thanks!

I've got that acer and it's a great monitor. My only complaint about it is the slight backlight bleeding on dark screens. But unless you have a completely black screen it's totally unnoticable.

They are both TN panels, so will both have viewing angle issues and will not be truly 8-bit color. In tests, the LG will be a slightly better panel, but to your eyes the difference probably won't be worth $100. I like my Acer and use it for games and movies. The Samsung 226BW is also good, and there ar a bunch of open box ones available at NewEgg for a cheap price:

My guess is these are from people returning their panels becuase they didn't get the "S" revision. The other revisions can be just as good once the colors are tweaked.
