I currently have a basic tracfone. I don't use the phone too often so I want to keep on the pay as you go type of plan. I've been looking at possibly getting an LG Rumor or Rumor 2 and use it w/ Virgin pay as you go and grab a mobile web plan. They have it tiered at $5 (5mb), $10 (20mb), and $20 (50mb). I'm not sure how much data is actually used by basic surfing/the facebook app built into it, but is even the lowest tier ok for popping online every so often for mobile directions/facebook/etc.?
If there are any other better phones that can do what I am looking to do and also line up with prepaid service, I'm open to suggestions. I've heard the Rumor isn't the most reliable, and am also looking into possibly getting a used iphone 3g and team that up with tmobile (still learning about how to do that).
