i have recently decided to buy an lg 1715s lcd monitor, but there is apparently some kind of problem for getting it as soon as i would like it to be at home, so i have been offered a 17" benq instead of it. They assure me it is as good as lg is, but i am not as sure as the vendor is so i would greatly appreciate your informing me about the REAL differences between them if any. Thnks in advance
 
BenQ was formerly known as Acer, fyi.

Don't really have any information regarding their LCD's but based on name alone I would stick with LG. From the few components I have had from each, the Lucky Goldstar have performed better (CD/DVD drives mainly).

 
In specs they seem similar (in fact they are probably using the same Autronics 16ms panel):

LG 1715S

BenQ FP767 (probably in black color)

It might not be that BenQ model, who knows they might have a rebadged LG, but I think it's this one. Reviews have been pretty positive for this BenQ, so you may be happy with it, but if you can wait I'd get the LG.
