So i just got a new Monitor + Video Card. LG 32QK500-W 32" Class QHD LED IPS Monitor with Radeon FreeSync + XFX RX580.

My computer was running 100% fine before i got these 2 items, and it also runs 100% fine when i'm not gaming. It also runs 99% fine while gaming. Once per 45 mins of gaming CSGO (all that i ever play, Max Settings, 1440p) my main monitor of a dual monitor setup turns black and turns back on in what seems like an eternity (2-4 seconds) while gaming. What do you guys think it is?

I had an issue with my 43" 4k LG 43UD79-B occasionally going blank for a similar few seconds, but it would happen very infrequently, maybe once or twice a day over a 10-12 hour period. And it would happen at any time, gaming, watching youtube, even just sitting on the desktop idle.

It was fixed with a firmware update.

Not sure if you can do the same, or if it's even related since you say it's only happening during gaming.

Sounds like a GPU recovery. What kind of Power Supply (PSU) do you have? What brand / model, wattage, and how old / how long has it been in service?

Also, could be bad GPU, but let's rule out an old / flaky / under-powered PSU first.

do you guys think this would be a good replacement for my current system to replace my 10 year old PCPC 610 Silencer? $60 - $20 rebate = $40AR at the moment.

since i've been out of the game for a while, is there anything i need to do other than unplug the old PSU, pull all the power cables and reattach everything w/ the new PSU , then power on?

I'd get a gold rated or above. PSUs tend to outlast everything else in the system. The higher end seasonics have a 12yr warranty.

Recently, only when using chrome, the center of the chrome browser would go dark for a few seconds and come back on. GPU is on 300mhz power save mode and only ramps up when gaming so it shouldn't be high power draw.
And only when using Chrome. Also the entire monitor doesn't go dark, only the center of the browser. The Start/Taskbar stays colored, and the tabs on top stay colored. Chrome comes back to normal after a couple of seconds.

I haven't installed any new programs or made a single change to the PC. Only play CSGO, watch youtube TV, and run the occasional virus scan.

Also, with the system in my signature, will a Seasonic Focus 550 fully modular PSU be good enough? Or should i opt for 650 and above to be more in the middle wattage "efficient zone"?

Long time, but i've been out of the game for a while.

Back to my last post since i've upgraded my system (in signature) to the AMD Rx580, i've been experiencing loss of picture for 2-5 seconds then back on while playing CS GO. I can't play competitive like this!!!! my teammates keep kicking me!
Think its a psu problem? If so, would a Seasonic Focus 750FX be a good psu? https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2017/07/10/seasonic-focus-plus-750-gold-750w-power-supply/
PSU is from 2017 tho... its on sale on Newegg now w/ a $15 rebate.
Current PSU is a 10 year old PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610

That was a good PSU back in the day, but 10 years... is a long time for a PSU. I would say, it's probably time for a new one. A Seasonic Focus Plus Gold is a good one.

I would guess it's the monitor. My LG monitor does the same thing even in Windows, and the rest of my system is up to par. I would look for a firmware update, and check settings like HDR that is causing the monitor to randomly switch between modes.

It could also be a "Video TDR" - a timeout talking to the GPU, either through system issues, or GPU issues (defective, not enough power, etc.). Basically, the video driver crashes, and has to be re-started, causing a several-second black-screen. (Or could just be split-second.)

To check if it's the monitor, try hooking the monitor up to a known-good system.

My monitor is this model: LG32QK500W . Bought from buydig.com 04/2019
But the closest i can find on LG's website is this: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32qk500-c
For either of them, I can't find anything related to "firmware" or "software" update. Where do you think they'd be?

Thanks, i wish i had another backup system to try, in my home i only have my one commputer. I have a laptop from 2008, but i can't game on that, nor does it have HDMI or DVI inputs, so i can't stress it out to see if the monitor shuts off for 2-5 seconds. it literally only happens at random times during gaming.

My PSU is coming in a week.

Unrelated to this, but i unplugged my tower from the wall and flipped the switch on my psu to move the tower to make room for a baby coming. Upon boot up, it brought me to a "load bios from default" or "load bios optimized" screen. You think its cuz my CMOS battery is dead? i haven't changed it since 2013.

Well in my post I also suggested a firmware update, for my LG 43UD79-B you had to install the associated software that came with the monitor in-order to update the firmware on the monitor.

Is that the actual model number of your monitor? I just updated my firmware via USB on my monitor, and it shows the model number. I wouldn't manually update the firmware unless I was sure it was for my specific model. I wonder if some cheaper monitors simply don't have the capability. One thing I do know is that if you have a USB port on your monitor you need to connect the cable directly from the monitor to your tower, no hubs or other peripheral devices seem to work.
