Lg LCD 26" tv , pc connecting problem!!

hey guys i am trying to connect my 26" lcd tv to my pc with a 24 pin dvi -d cable. but i am not getting any display! But when i connect it with dvi to vga it displays the screen!!

please help!! what could be the problem?
