LG L2000C - Very good 4:3 1600x1200 monitor. The ViewSonic VP2030b is good too.
Samsung 215TW - Best S-PVA panel there is. Amazing colors for photo editing. May be a tad slow for games, but not that far behind a regular TN LCD.
NEC 20WGX2 - Best consumer LCD there is, in terms of image quality (response time, viewing angles, color) and connectivity. Keep in mind the US version 20WMGX2 has more connectors than the European NEC LCD20WGX2. The European one doesn't have HDCP.

I compare the Samsung to the NEC (US 20WMGX2) in this article: http://lcdresource.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=27&Itemid=36

I should have mentioned that my primary use will be photo editing and possibly video editing in the future. How is the NEC for photo editing vs the Samsung?

Thanx

Check out the article in my post. The Samsung is better because it's higher contrast and generally has a better black level. The NEC is probably great too though. You may prefer the NEC for photo editing too. I'm just not sure how it scales at lower brightnesses. Not quite as well as the Samsung I'm guessing, which is closer to a CRT.

the NEC 20WMGX2 is what i have and i love it. The glossy screen is soo much more soothing on the eyes than a normal lcd panel.

ohhh definatley 100% more of a gamer. Never edited a photo in my life.

But i can say that general usuage is soo much easier on the eyes with my 20WMGX2. For example, just browsing anandtech with all of the shades of grey and blue is soo much nicer with my 20WMGX2 than with the other LCD's i use (work and downstairs computer).

But I can only give my opinion on the NEC as I have never even seen the other two in person.

Color banding in the LG L2000C. Noticeably more when using DVI over Analog.

Other than that I think this monitor is fantastic and would buy it again. Unfortunately, I have not used either of your other choices so I can't compare them.
