LG L194WT Video Issue

Hi all,

Just updated from a 21" CRT to 19" LG Widescreen. Everything works fine so far at 1440x900 resolution when using analog connection. I switched to DVI and everything also seemed fine until I tried to play any video's. In Media player I get the audio but none of the video shows?? Switch back to analog and the video shows? Any ideas?

I'm disappointed to hear that, I just purchased this monitor only to find the driver CD completely bent, as it was underneath the curved styrofoam packaging. The LG website seems to be in rather poor shape, as I cannot locate the driver download to enable me to set the optimal 1440x900 resolution. Would it be possible for you to send me the drivers/installation program?

I apologize that I can't help you with your problem, but once I get my monitor working as it should I can try to come up with a solution (hopefully I don't have that same problem with the video).

couple of questions if I may. How is monitor in games? The only thing that has me worried about this or the new samsung 940bw is it looks soooooo damn short...yes its wider but it looks like they removed 3 inches from the height of the viewable area to make it this way.

any thoughts are greatly appreciated

I played a little bit of HL2 episode 1 at the 16:10 1440x900 and it was cool so far. I have to do some extended play yet before I decide to keep or not. The video issue when on DVI is still the issue. I have Catalyst 6.7 installed. I may swap out X700 for a 9600XT or GF-FX5750 and see if issue goes away.

Hi D1, I also have an LG L194WT. I am using Windows XP Home with an Nvidia 6600 GT card and I DO NOT have the problem you have watching vidoes in media player.
Everything works just fine and I am very pleased with this LG Monitor ! 🙂
I don't think your problems is the monitor its most likely a software conflict.

Are you hooking both monitors up at once? Anyhow, not a monitor problem, but a video driver configuration issue. Overlay is not enabled on one of the connections apparently. One work around in WMP is to go to Tools->Options->Performance->Advanced and enable "high quality mode". After that, restart WMP, and play a file.

Thanks for the feedback! I tried the WMP setting; no good. Then looked at overlay settings in Catalyst and made a setting change and it works now!
