OneCall has the LG Electronics LST-3510A for $398 plus ship after $25 coupon and 1% OnePass discount. It's an ATSC (over the air) and QAM (unscrambled cable) HDTV receiver with very good sensitivity and clean output. I have one and it's definitely a noticable step up from my Samsung SIR-T165 and Samsung SIR-T151 HDTV receivers. It also has a built in DVD player that can output 720p and 1080i out of its HDCP compliant DVI port. It also has VGA, component, s-video, composite, and RF outputs. Overall build quality and fit & finish is high. Remote is good, but layout is a bit busy.

Deal expires 5/31/04.

Start by signing up for their onepass account. It's their free deal update.

The $25 coupon code is printed right at the top of your cart.

Here's a pict of the front of mine. As you can see, you can change the format (480p, 720p, 1080i, etc) right from the front.

$398 is a lot for a DVD, but it seems most basic DVD players with scaling DVI output cost about $200. Then, you're adding an ATSC HDTV tuner (they're $300 or so, for a pretty poor quality one), plus QAM capabilities. Unfortunately, I don't watch enough TV to warrant replacing my Samsung HDTV boxes with these things, or I would have 3 of them. :)

sure if i understand the QAM concept. unscrambled cable? wouldn't most cable ready tv be able to receive unscrambled cable? I have time warner digital cable. would qam let me watch HD channels of ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX through the cable line? what about discovery HD, INHD, etc? what about regular digital channels?

only the unencrypted channels... so probably the broadcast channels, but not ESPNHD, or INHD, HDNET.

I have this player from circuit city, open box for $369, and I paid I think 35$ for the 3yrs extended warranty, since this one only has 1yr part and 90days labor warranty. I used to be able to get INHD, but I think comcast scrambled that channel now. :(

The value is in the tuner (STB), not the DVD player. However, since this thing lacks a FireWire port, I'd give it a pass.

Just got one of these from Onecall today Free shipping $398. Works great.

I am getting 5 more OTA channels than my Samsung 351 and best of all I'm getting a whole bunch of PPV channels from the hotel cable. This thing is crazy :). Don't know how it's doing but I love free movies.

The Samsung is going straight back to CC. Good Ridance.

so you take this to hotels and receive PPV channels? wow.

2nd question..does it have any inputs like composite, component, svid?
it would be great if this replaced the inputs of the tv all together especially for plasmas
