Question LG display problems

Hi, I have an old LG L1980U display. It works fine but lately it shows in irregular intervals the menu window for 20 to 40 seconds. LG suggested to update the firmware but they don't have it anywhere on their website, they don't seem to have a clue what model it is. Probably too old.
Does anyone have an idea where I could download that firmware update?

This article suggests the monitor first appeared in 2005. Given the problem you describe has just started cropping up, and it's age, it probably has some part that is dying. On that, I'd probably just look to replace it if you can. Plenty of good monitors to choose from, both new and used.

I'd be surprised if there was firmware flying around the web for a monitor this old.

I think you are right. I've searched high and low but no firmware could be found; I wouldn't even know how to install it on that monitor. A pity to junk it, the picture quality is still fantastic.
