LG 9700 Dare - TELUS

Just got off the phone with an LG employee who refused to give me the drivers for the LG 9700 Dare. When I pointed out that Verizon gives them out in the US he said "That's an American company" as if that explained everything. What I've worked out is that if I get the drivers I can get into the phone and put my own ring tones on it without having to go to through TELUS and pay crazy amounts of money for them. Does anyone know how I could get the drivers for the LG 9700 that are freely available in the US?

I got my LG Dare through Verizon and have a disc that came with it... would those drivers work?
