theyre built incredily cheap... but the saving grace is that since its lg you can usually find replacement parts. im not sure how much i like lg components though, they seem to have issues on a regular basis and i dont think the picture quality ever leaves you impressed...

I bought this for $900 only a few months ago (which was a decent deal at the time).

The picture is decent, but the audio is garbage. Any "intense" sound (xbox starting up sound, a deep voice, a big boom) will cause the speakers to crackle. You NEED external audio. It's also not very loud. The max volume is what I would consider a reasonable listening level.

You're not going to get good audio out of any TV this thin. There just isn't enough room for proper acoustics.

While the LG sets are made cheaply, they have the best (only?) passive 3D right now, which means cheap (or free if you have spares from movie theaters) glasses without much crosstalk. This set, of course, doesn't offer that feature. For another $100 (after $150 rebate), this deal seems like it may be a better value, but the OP was still a good deal for those in the market for a big screen without any frills.
