What is a good software to use?
What format should files be in in order to be burned onto a dvd-r?
As well, if i put a ps2 game in my dvd rom, and a blank dvd-r in my dvd-writer can i burn ps2 games and play them with out getting a mod chip?

Welcome to AT tech support. Unfortunatley, I don't think the Moderators will support anybody helping with the back up of PS2 games.

But a good DVD "burning" software I use is Nero 6.0


You might want to try www.vcdhelp.com and see if they can answer your questions on the backups.
