I'm looking to purchase a new 4K monitor and so far I have found two monitors that I like and can afford, LG27UL650 and Asus VG289Q, but I can't decide which one to get. I would like to know your opinion or experience if you own any of the two. You can also suggest me some other monitor within my budget which is 450 €. Below are the specs for both monitors.

LG27UL650

Screen Size 27-inch
Resolution 3840×2160 (Ultra HD)
Panel Type IPS
Aspect Ratio 16:9 (Widescreen)
Refresh Rate 60Hz
Response Time 5ms (GtG)
Adaptive Sync FreeSync (40Hz-60Hz)
Ports DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0
Other Ports Headphone Jack
Brightness 300 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio 1000:1 (static)
Colors 1.07 billion (8-bit + FRC)
98% sRGB HDR HDR10
VESA Yes (100x100mm)

Asus VG289Q

Screen Size 28-inch
Resolution 3840×2160 (Ultra HD)
Panel Type IPS
Aspect Ratio 16:9 (Widescreen)
Refresh Rate 60Hz
Response Time 5ms (GtG)
Adaptive Sync FreeSync (40Hz-60Hz)
Speakers 2x2W
Ports DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0
Other Ports Headphone Jack
Brightness 350 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio 1000:1 (static)
Colors 1.07 billion (8-bit + FRC)
90% DCI-P3
VESA Yes (100x100mm)

The main difference between the two is that LG 27UL650 supports VESA DisplayHDR 400, while Asus VG289Q has better color reproduction (90% DCI-P3 versus 99% sRGB).

Thanks.

I have the LG 27UK650 (same as the LG you are looking at, different model year) and I absolutely love it. The colors are very accurate, it gets very bright and I have no IPS glor and no color umiformity issues. Great panel.

Thanks for repy. I ordered the Asus VG289Q on Monday before you replied and it arrived earlier today. I decided for the Asus VG289Q because of the better color reproduction and must say I like it a lot.

That sure must be one magical IPS panel to have no glow at all. I have used dozens of IPS panels over the years and every one has had glow to some extent noticeable in the right conditions such as a dark game or movie. It can even be more and aggravating than backlight bleed in some cases.
