LG 24x10x40 CD-RW ................ w/8MB buffer + Smartlink?

My local pc shop technicians are really saying good things about the new LG's ................... anyone have experience w/these and the 2MB as compared to the 8MB buffers ........................... ?

Have one & it's been fine sofar, only burned a few ISOs though, surprissed me to find that some older 12x media burned at 24x with this drive.

I have the drive and I really like it. When I first got it I threw in a 16x cd-r and burned it at 24x no problems, I did foroget to turn on DMA so it took awhile to burn cause the buffer would run out and the burn would pause. I also made a perfect copy of tribes 2 and star trek voyager : elite force which are both safedisc protected, tribes 2 is SD2 protected. fully supported by clone cd as well. I would have liked the retail version to come with nero instead of ez cd creator 5. with the burner I can burn a full 700mb cd in about 4 1/2 min
