To all,

I am considering the LG Model W2452T 24" LCD for my next monitor purchase (September).

Does anyone know what "2H Coating" surface treatment means? I'm trying to find out if the display has a glossy panel or a matt panel.

If it does not have a glossy panel, can anyone make a recommendation on a 24" model that does? I was in BestBuy today and saw a Gateway Model 2401 which looked pretty nice.

I've already looked at the LCD thread and didn't see much in the way of recommendations or feedback on 24" LCD monitors, especially any with glossy panels.

Thanks in advance.

2H is a rating of pencil hardness. Some LCDs are 3H and 4H (harder). It doesn't tell whether or not the panel is glossy or matte, though.

I believe the W2452T is anti-glare, matte. Two glossy 24"s LCDs I recommend are the HP w2408h and Gateway FHD2400 (2401 may be roughly the same).

The screen is definitely matte finish. I just bought one a few months back and love it. I would not have the gloss screen as it picks up every bit of light in the room and the result is terrible glare. I looked at some glossy ones in the stores but could not get a good view because at any angle the lights from the store produced glare in the picture.
