as for refinement and build quality, the other way around.

Yeah, that's really tough. The G35 is fast and sporty, and a coupe. The IS250 is a little nicer on the inside, but I don't know if it's worth the loss in performance.

Here I'll just post what I did from the IS350 vs. 330i post.
If your interested in 330i you might want to take a look at the 320si. Its not in the states yet but its a homologation of the BMW racecar for the FIA World Touring Car Championship. The one they used to win with Andy Priaulx. They are only make 2,600 of them. Could be a future e30 M3 or 2002ti.

Its a four instead of a inline six. So it doesn't make as much power. But it gets 31 mpg.

It will be around $29,000.
Have you driven it? The IS350 is worth every penny IMOOriginally posted by: mercanucaribe
IS250. It has enough power and great gas mileage.
Agreed, two different cars. If he was looking at the IS350 vs. G35 Coupe then that would be a little closer in terms of power IMO so that could work since Lexus doesn't have any other sports coupe.Originally posted by: isekii
how do you cross shop a sports sedan to a coupe ?

IS350 is too expensive. I'm looking to spend right at $30k, or below, if possible. That means a 2004 G35c.
IS350 also doesn't come in 6 speed.. one of my major requirements.

I had this same dilemma. I wanted to get an AWD luxury car in manual around $35K. The only cars that fell in the category were the A4 and S60R. The 330xi wasn't out at the time.
I ended up forgoing the AWD and got the G35 instead. Although it was completely useless when it snowed 8" a little while back I love it. I'm considering getting snow tires to make it somewhat drivable in bad weather. If worst comes to worst, I'll drive my SUV when the weather gets really bad.
