So, we took my wife's 2006 Lexus IS250 in for routine maintenance and a detail less than 2 weeks ago and they didn't do anything with the floor mats...which is fine with me.

It just leads me to believe that the entire zip tie nonsense was just that...nonsense.

Yeah, Toyota's official solution is to remove the driver's floor mat until they come up with a fix.

Okay, but where is the official notice that this is the fix, and why didn't the dealer implement this fix in the OP?

You have the stock floor mats right? I'm sure the real problem is people stacking multiple mats or using aftermarket floor mats that are too thick.

Yes, stock Lexus floor mats. Took it in less than 2 weeks ago, got it back with all the floor mats installed and no zip ties.
